Saatvaks organisatsiooniks on Avatud Ühiskond MTÜ. Koolituse eesmärk on tuua kokku õpetajad, õppejõud, koolitajad, noorsootöötajad, haridustöötajad ja vabaühenduste esindajad, et käivitada teenusedisaini arenguprogramm. Kahe osalsie koolituse raames loovad osalejad ühiselt tegevus- ja arengukava ühingu võimekuse tõstmiseks .

Õpiränne on üheks programmi Euroopa Noored kandvaks ja arendavaks jõuks, sest selle kaudu kujundatakse tulevikku silmas pidades noorsootöö kvaliteeti. See toimub peamiselt läbi rahvusvahelise kogemustevahetuse ning noorsootöötajate täiendkoolituse, aga ka rahvusvaheliste võrgustike ja partnerlussuhete arengu toetamise. Noorsootöötajate õpirände kaudu edendatakse väga erinevaid tegevusvorme – alates diskussioonidest Euroopa noorsoopoliitika päevakorralistel teemadel ja lõpetades konkreetsete projektide teostuseks vajalike partnerlussuhete arendamisega.

Noorsootöötajate osalus õpirändes panustab samuti organisatsiooni tegevussuutlikkuse arengusse.

General information and description of the project

The training course “Obverse and Reverse” consists of two parts: 8.12.2019 – 15.12.2019 in Riga, Latvia, including four team members from Estonia. The second workgroup meeting will be held in Romania, dates are currently unknown. The partner organisations are from Partners: Romania, Italy, Estonia, Spain, Bulgaria, Czech Rep., Serbia, Hungary, North Macedonia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland.

The overall aim of this project is to develop and promote a new positive narrative of inclusion through creative and innovative youth work activities. To train youth workers and youth leaders giving the chance to young Europeans and young refugees and migrants to meet and share and explore their stories in order to match them with the needs of the communities they live in.

Our organization was created more than two years ago as an informal group of youth people. We were actively participated in several European projects (Youth Exchanges, trainings, study visits, summer camps), and got more experience in youth work. We decided to register our organization at the finish of the year 2013. During this two year’s, our members and key personal were developing a strong network with other organizations from the European Union as well as from Eastern Partnership and SEE. Now, our goals are to develop the next – non-formal education, European values, tolerance, nonviolence, conflict prevention and resolution, civic participation and European citizenship through youth people from Latvia. Given our soviet history, we want to help to integrate into EU the organizations from Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Georgia.

The aims of the training programme:

  • To analyze the migrants’ background, the migration flows and reasons behind it;
  • To contribute to migrants and refugees integration;
  • To promote inclusion, tolerance and mutual understanding / fight generalization, racism and stereotypes;
  • To promote a change of perception towards migration and refugees;
  • To raise awareness on the feelings, hopes, needs, fears, dreams, expectations, competences and skills of migrants/refugees and on their positive contribution to local communities;
  • To develop 10 strategies to match community needs and migrants’ stories.

These objectives will be reached by implementing two different and subsequent training courses and connect them with some local activities that each partner already committed to implement at the local level (between the two activities and as a follow up after the second training). As expected results, we foresee to realize a final publication in which thoughts, reflections stories of migrations developed as “modern fairy-tales” will be presented. The publication will also promote the concept of “community match”, defined as the opportunity to match the stories, skills and knowledge of the migrants with the needs and opportunities of the community they live in. The methodology of the training course: Generally, the working methods will be rather non-formal and participative. Methods planned to use e.g. individual work, pair work, organisational work, mixed group work, field activity, light theatre method, theatre of oppressed, Dixit card exercise, montages, interviews, statutes, debate, aquarium discussion, etc. E-booklet on youth work goes intercultural for public use.

Who can participate in the training course:

Participants should be 20+ years old, motivated to take part in all stages of the project (preparation, realization, follow up), have a fluent command of English language, the gender balance in the group is advisable but not compulsory.

Participants must be youth workers or local youth leaders, able to use the new gained skills and experiences in their youth work.

✓ Youth workers, youth leaders who directly work with young people with different cultural backgrounds e.g. refugees, migrants, foreign kids, young people coming home from other countries, minorities, Roma young people, etc.
✓ Having organisational support for further cooperation;
✓ Open to recognise own stereotypes and prejudices and work on these;
✓ Willing to adapt intercultural education into their youth work realities based on the needs of their target groups;
✓ Ready to take part in the whole project;
✓ To be able to communicate English language.

Relevant information:

The Erasmus + Programme will cover 100% of the accommodation, food and activities and will reimburse 100% of the travel costs for the participants – up to 275 euros. Participants will receive a  “Youthpass” certificate which describes and validates the non-formal and informal learning experience gained during the project. Youthpass is a European recognition tool for non-formal and informal learning in youth work, developed by SALTO, initially for the Youth in Action programme. Youthpass is for projects funded by Erasmus+ youth programmes and helps the participants of those projects to record their learning and skills development, which could then be used to support job applications or applications for further courses for example. The applicants will be notified 10.04.2019 the latest.
